Introducing our research agent

Key takeaways

Our new research agent acts as a researcher in your pocket. It runs research independently and follows up with its own findings, returning with a report made for sharing

Introducing our research agent

  • How it works

  • Why we built it

  • The vision

We started Electric Twin with the mission to help organisations make better decisions. The launch of our new research agent brings us one step closer to that goal.

Synthetic audiences made it possible for users to ask questions of their audiences in the platform much as they would their real customers, but at a speed and scale traditional fieldwork could not match. This gave organisations the ability to access insight far more frequently and expand the role it could play in everyday decision-making.

However, we recognised that users on our platform were still constrained by their capacity on what they to test in a single session. Or what they could think to test at that given time.

Our research agent changes this, as it accelerates the speed of research even further

The agent acts like a researcher in your pocket. It takes the heavy lift away, so users can jump straight from brief to results. It works by independently taking the initial question and following the research, meaning that it decides the approach, selects the right audience, picks the tools and designs the survey questions. It then runs hundreds of surveys and focus groups, and keeps going until it finds an insight worth sharing.

Put simply, it makes autonomous calls on what to dig deeper into. This is something that is impossible to do with conventional surveys. At the end, it hands you back a report ready to be shared with others across the organisation or as a foundation to start your research.

Why we built it

We built the research agent as we saw how valuable these insights were becoming to our users and recognised that there were still limitations to how many ideas they could test. If we are limited by human capacity or time, then the best ideas might never be tested. So we set out to accelerate the pace of research by expanding the scope of what could be asked in a single day.

We believe that a good decision means thinking through all potential effects that decision can have, while still being bold and taking action to effect change. As I saw during Covid, critical decisions can be made too slowly, or without thinking through all the potential risks, meaning that even the most well-intentioned decisions often miss the mark on what they’re trying to solve.

The vision

We believe that expanding the scope of what can get tested means that users will be better armed with the right insights to inform their decisions. Creating a positive impact and making the right call has never been easier.
